Human Inside covers a series of photo’s that I took on my journeys all over the world. and shows my intens contact with tribal people all over the world. One of the most intens tribe which made a deep impression on me are the Suri people of Ethiopia.

My first acquaintance with this tribe 2004 inspired me to visit more often. My last visit dates from November 2017.

The images aren’t shot from an anthropological or ethnic point of view, but are coming from an unconditional fascination for the pure beauty of the Suri in all it’s color and appearance. From confronting to modest, from sober to exuberant, while time is of no consequence.

The titles Blood,Face, Fight, Color and Bird refer tot their traditions and rituals. The Suri are very persistent in clinging to these traditions and rituals; these are representing everything they know and attach value to. They show their feelings, emotions, and power in an untouched manner.
